Pettersen, First Round Lead at LPGA North Texas Shootout
Suzann Pettersen’s back.
That has been a sore subject recently, sidelining her for one month. But on Thursday, she showed that she’s back, as in returning to form.
In only her second start since her layoff, Pettersen shot 5-under 66 to take the first-round lead at the LPGA North Texas Shootout.
The Norwegian, No. 4 in the World Ranking, had little trouble negotiating the rolling hills and quirky bounces at Las Colinas Country Club.
Her bogey-free round put her one stroke clear of Michelle Wie, Cristie Kerr, Christina Kim, Caroline Masson, Cydney Clanton and Dori Carter.
“Hitting the ball great,” Pettersen said. “I was actually feeling a little bit tense to start, which is a good sign. So nice to be back.”
