Texas’ First 2 Legal Gay Weddings May Have Taken Place on Valentine’s Day
Did Texas just host its very first legal gay weddings?
Two female couples are claiming to have bucked the state’s ban on same-sex marriage by officially getting hitched.
Judge Carl Ginsberg recently presided over two ceremonies where all four participants consider themselves to be women, reports CBS Local.
However, one member of each couple has previously had gender surgery and thus been surgically changed from male to female.
So, despite physically being women, the couples were seemingly able to exploit a loophole, as officially one of them was still recognized as a man.
Ashely Boucher, who married mom-of-two Genevieve Jonte, told CBS Local that legally he was still a male in the state of Texas.
