Johnny Manziel Officially Submits Declaration Papers To Be Included in NFL Draft
According to NFL.com’s Gil Brandt, Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel has made himself available for the NFL draft by officially submitting his declaration papers, leaving College Station after two seasons that included a Heisman Trophy win and two bowl victories.
Many early draft projections and scouting evaluations peg Manziel as a first-round pick. In his final game as a collegiate quarterback, Manziel rallied his team for a 52-48 win against Duke in the Chick-fil-A Bowl. With the help of Johnny Football, A&M rallied from a 21-point halftime deficit. He threw for 382 yards and four touchdowns on 30-of-38 passing
The deadline for underclassmen to declare for the draft is Jan. 15. An ESPN report said that Manziel has picked Select Sports Group, out of Houston, to represent him. Reports first linked Manziel with the agency weeks ago. ESPN also reported Manziel will go with LRMR, the firm run by NBA star LeBron James’ business partner Maverick Carter to do his marketing.
