Wendy Davis and Greg Abbott Both Outraged by the Light Probation Sentence Given to Drunk Rich-Kid Killer

The debate over a spoiled Texas teen whose “affluenza” defense spared him jail time in his trial for killing four people while driving drunk has become a political talking point in the state’s gubernatorial race.

But unlike most other political issues being discussed in the race, Democratic State Sen. Wendy Davis and Republican Attorney General Greg Abbott actually agree that the light probation sentence handed down in the trial is an outrage.

Last week, 16-year-old Ethan Couch was sentenced to 10 years of probation for killing four people and injuring 11 others, in a horrific accident in June during which he was cruising at 70 mph while blacked-out drunk.
