With Prince Fielder Being Old News, What is Rangers’ Jon Daniels Next Move?
Prince Fielder arrived in Arlington on Monday pumped to talk about his fresh start with the Rangers.
“I’m very excited,” Fielder said, then put on a size 58 jersey with the No. 84.
He will wear No. 84 in honor of his birth year, as something of a symbol of his rebirth with the Rangers.
“I’m here, so I might as well accept it,” Fielder said before drooling over the short right field fence in Arlington, which he said he “definitely plans to look into.”
And, well, blah, blah, blah.
By Monday, the Rangers’ acquisition of Fielder was kind of like Miley Cyrus twerking or the Cowboys’ third-down inefficiency. It was old news.
Miley is now dancing with large lip-synching cats. The Cowboys are converting third downs. The baseball world has already put the Fielder-for-Kinsler blockbuster in its rear-view mirror thanks to what appears to be an accelerated off-season.
