Dallas-based Texas Instruments Foundation is donating $100,000 to the American Red Cross Typhoon Relief Fund for the Philippines and it will match employee and retiree contributions up to $100,000 to the Red Cross through Nov. 30.

Typhoon Haiyan struck the Philippines last Friday resulting in 1,798 deaths and displacing hundreds of thousands of people.

On Monday, I blogged that Texas Instruments Inc. said the typhoon spared its two semiconductor factories and 3,400 employees in Baguio and Pampanga (Clark), on the northern Philippines island of Luzon. TI is the largest exporter in the Philippines and has had a presence there since 1980.
