TCU Versus Texas: Preview and Prediction
Game time: 6:30 p.m. central time at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas.
Last year’s result: TCU beats Texas 20-13 in Austin.
What’s at stake: TCU seeks another win to get closer to the necessary six wins to make a bowl game. Texas looks to build upon its win over Oklahoma, a win Texas fans hope turned around their season. A win would keep Texas atop the Big 12 conference.
When TCU has the ball: Trevone Boykin threw just nine passes last year as TCU beat the Longhorns 20-13. The Frogs dominated Texas on the ground as they amassed 217 rushing yards. Credit the Frogs’ offensive line for dominating the Texas defensive line. Sure, the Frogs would like to use the same blueprint for victory on Saturday, but the TCU offensive line has struggled so far this season.
“It’s tough to throw the ball down field when the first thing you have to do is make two guys miss,” Gary Patterson said this week in reference to criticism of quarterback Trevone Boykin.
