Wells Fargo Announced Another 77 Layoffs in North Texas
Wells Fargo announced another 77 layoffs in North Texas as the volume of mortgage refinances continues to decline, according to a statement issued by the company.
Across the country, the bank issued 60-day notices to 925 employees in the mortgage department.
The cuts affect 71 employees in Irving as San Francisco-based Wells Fargo shuts down its mortgage operation at that office. Another six employees were cut in Bedford, too.
The bank says it’s “committed to retaining as many team members as possible, working with them to identify other opportunities within Wells Fargo.”
