Report: Johnny Manziel Apologized to Texas A&M Coaches

Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel will have plenty of questions to answer on Wednesday when the Heisman Trophy winner speaks at SEC Media Days in Hoover, Ala.

According to ESPN’s Joe Schad, Manziel already apologized to the Texas A&M coaching staff and “is being advised to be honest about what led to his much-discussed departure” from the Manning Passing Academy. After missing assigned meetings and practice sessions, Manziel left his post as a coach/counselor one day ahead of schedule.

Around 1,200 media members are expected to be in attendance as the SEC kicks off the 2013 preseason with their annual three-day media event. After a wild 12 months that included winning both the Texas A&M starting job and the Heisman Trophy, every camera and recorder will be focused on Johnny Football when the quarterback takes the podium.

According to ESPN, coaches and public relations specialists are working with Manziel to prepare for the off-the-wall nature of SEC Media Days. After all, this is the same event in which Tim Tebow’s virginity was a topic of conversation.
