Joaquin Castro Chooses Experienced Lawmakers for Congressional Staff
WASHINGTON — Freshman Rep. Joaquin Castro has stacked his office lineup, choosing experienced staffers from Capitol Hill and the Texas Legislature, including several with San Antonio connections.
“I am proud to have just a dedicated and enthusiastic team,” said Castro, D-San Antonio.
Carlos Sanchez, a Laredo native and former aide to House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, will serve as chief of staff. Laura Zapata, formerly with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, is press secretary.
