Aggies ‘Whoop’ After Being Named Top 5 in AP Poll Ranking

After Alabama thrashed Notre Dame in the national title game Monday night, the Associated Press released its final poll of the season.

The big question surrounded Texas A&M’s final standing after crushing the Oklahoma Sooners in the Cotton Bowl. The Aggies were looking for their first top-five finish in the AP poll in more than 50 years, and got it… barely. A&M finished tied with Georgia for the No. 5 ranking, with both teams earning 1,230 points. The Aggies were ranked No. 10 heading into bowl season.
