Legislators Give Benefits for 120,000 Unemployed Texans

About 120,000 unemployed Texans, who would have lost unemployment benefits Monday, will get extended benefits under federal legislation signed Wednesday by President Barack Obama, the Texas Workforce Commission reported.

The emergency unemployment benefits, part of fiscal cliff legislation, are extended to Jan. 1, 2014.
